Guide to Gathering Your Thoughts
This workbook is designed to help you gather your thoughts, consider the best possible and worst possible responses, and think about how you will reply.
One of the most common patterns in everyday conflict is avoidance, followed by feeling stressed, anxious and worried, imagining the worst possible outcomes, and then finally, once the conversation happens, relief. Clients often say that the conversation itself was not as bad as they had feared, and they wished they’d done it sooner.
Those difficult conversations go better, are easier to start, manage and end when you have prepared for the conversation, including making a plan for the worst case scenario.
By completing the exercises in this workbook, you will feel confident and in control of the conversation.
